How Much Is Pokemon Bulk Worth?
The value of a Pokemon bulk lot depends on what is in it far more than how many cards there are. Here is what drives the number, with realistic example lots.
The Short Answer
At current rates, 1,000 commons, uncommons, and rares are worth $20 per 1,000 cards, and 1,000 holos and reverse holos are worth $50 per 1,000 cards. Higher-value cards such as VSTAR and VMAX are paid per card. So a big box of mostly commons is worth less than people expect, while a smaller lot with the right mix can be worth more. Use the Pokemon bulk calculator for an exact estimate.
What Makes a Pokemon Bulk Lot Worth More?
- Category mix. A lot with holos, V, VSTAR, VMAX, and GX cards is worth more than a lot of the same size made of commons.
- Era. WOTC-era bulk is priced well above modern bulk. WOTC Unlimited bulk is $250 per 1,000 cards, and 1st Edition bulk is $5,000 per 1,000 cards.
- Condition. Rates assume Near Mint cards, with Lightly Played accepted for WOTC-era cards.
- Accurate sorting. A lot that is sorted into the right categories is easier to price, because every card is counted at the right rate.

Why Your Bulk May Be Worth Less Than You Expect
It is common to find that a large box of bulk adds up to less than hoped. Individual commons and uncommons are worth only cents, so volume alone does not create value. Sorting helps, because holos, reverse holos, and higher-value categories are worth more than the pile around them. If a box feels light on value, it is worth checking for single cards worth selling on their own before you sell the rest as bulk.
